Loch lubhair and Loch Dochart
You will find first Loch Dochart and then Loch lubhair when heading east on the A85 from Crianlarich. The River Dochart connects both of these neighbouring lochs in the Breadalbane region of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs. Tyndrum
Tyndrum, close to the northern boundary of the National Park is a good place to get food, drink, petrol and gifts. There are two railway stations here and some scenic sections of the West Highland Way walk. A good staging post before heading north and into Glencoe. Loch Eck, Argyll Forest
Loch Eck can be found just south of Glenbranter and north of Benmore Botanic Garden. The long thin loch has a few picnic spots, including Jubilee Point. Piping on the Square, Drymen
Piping on the Square is organised by Drymen Community Development Trust each summer, with local pipe bands playing an hour of music on Drymen Square. The event takes place in Drymen on Thursday nights in July and August during the summer school holidays. Killin
Killin is a pretty village, close to the edge of the National Park and the western head of Loch Tay. The dramatic Falls of Dochart cut through the village, with the A827 heading over a bridge across them. If you want to see more photographs of the falls, please see our separate guide to them. Loch Voil and Loch Doine
Loch Voil and Loch Doine, two neighbouring lochs are deep in Rob Roy Country, close to Balquhidder. Opposite Monachyle Mhor hotel on the strip of land between Loch Voil and Loch Doine there is the Mirror Box, a scenic viewpoint installation and part of the BLiSS Trail.
Milarrochy Bay, Loch Lomond
Probably the most photographed tree can be found at Milarrochy Bay on Loch Lomond. The lone tree sits close to the water's edge, if you're walking the West Highland Way you will find this on the route between Balmaha and Rowardennan.
