Tips to plan your West Highland Way Walk
Launched in 1980 as Scotland’s first long-distance trail The West Highland Way continues to grow in popularity. Walkers and cyclists are attracted to its 96 miles for varied and spectacular scenery. Starting in the lowlands, just north of Glasgow the route enters the National Park close to Drymen, going alongside Loch Lomond from Balmaha through to its northern tip, leaving the National Park beyond Tyndrum. The scenery becomes wilder as the route crosses Glencoe, before arriving at the end of the trail at Fort William.
This page features mainly provides information about the sections and stopping points within the National Park.
