Loch Eck, Argyll Forest
Loch Eck can be found just south of Glenbranter and north of Benmore Botanic Garden. The long thin loch has a few picnic spots, including Jubilee Point. Loch Chon, The Trossachs
Loch Chon is in the Trossachs. From Aberfoyle follow the signs for Stronachlachar, passing first Loch Ard and then onto Loch Chon. A little further along the road are Loch Arklet and Loch Katrine, with Loch Lomond accessible at Inversnaid. Cormonachan Woodlands
Cormonachan Woodlands is a not-for-profit organisation that manages the woodlands for its owners, Forestry & Land Scotland. Stretching along the banks of Loch Goil, the woods are looked after by local volunteers. Recently they have greatly enhanced the visitor experience, installing new hides to view squirrels whilst extending and improving pathways and tracks.
Cycle NCN 7 Lochs and Glens Way
NCN7 (Lochs & Glens North) is the long distance cycle route between Glasgow and Inverness. The total distance is 214 miles. After 21 miles from Glasgow the route meets Loch Lomond & The Trossachs at Balloch. From there the route goes to Drymen and then into the Trossachs, passing through Aberfoyle and Callander, before going through Rob Roy Country to leave the National Park at Killin.
Loch Katrine Waterworks
14th October 2019 was the 160th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s first visit to Loch Katrine. She was there to open the impressive new aqueduct, located close to Stronachlachar. This marvel of Victorian engineering still carries out its same function all these years later. Three Lochs Forest Drive
The Three Lochs Forest Drive is a 7-mile forest drive, located two miles north of Aberfoyle, on the A821, better known as the Duke's Pass. The Dukes Pass itself is a road famous for its twists, turns and views. Look out for the entrance on the right-hand side when driving from Aberfoyle. Balquhidder
Balquhidder is a small village in Breadalbane, deep in Rob Roy Country. Balquhidder Kirk is the resting place of the outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor, there are many excellent walks nearby and two lochs - Loch Voil and Loch Doine. The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre
The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre is a flagship site for Forestry and Land Scotland, set within Queen Elizabeth Forest, part of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. It is one mile north of Aberfoyle in the Trossachs, on Duke's Pass. The Lodge features a cafe, toilets, waterfall, trails, wildlife hide and Go Ape! Little Fawn Waterfall is dramatic, you can also see red squirrels nearby.
