Motorhomes and Campervans
Here is a guide to staying in a campervan or motorhome in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Sales of campervans and motorhomes in the UK have risen sharply, with over 16,000 new registrations recorded last year alone, reflecting their growing popularity.
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, within an hour’s drive for over half of Scotland’s population, is a prime destination for campervan and motorhome enthusiasts. Our curated directory highlights scenic and well-located sites, many offering excellent facilities to enhance your stay in this stunning region.

Can I stop in a Layby?
Yes, you can; however, councils are increasingly restricting overnight parking in some places. Unsurprisingly included in this are some of the lochside laybys, such as Duck Bay. That’s not to say that you won’t find a place to pull over and stay overnight; however, this guide is here to help you find sites where you will be welcomed and have good facilities.
Motorhome and Campervan Pitches
We work hard to keep all of our guides up to date in an ever-changing world. We usually visit and experience everything that we write about to give you an honest and up to date assessment of it. This guide is slightly different as we have had to research most of the content online. Therefore we apologise in advance if we have missed any sites or incorrectly listed any facilities. Please let us know if you would like to suggest any changes; the easiest way to do this is by email.
Book a Pitch
The advice is to book in advance of your visit. To help you with that, we have linked to the booking pages of the various Motorhome and Camping Sites, where you can also check on facilities.
Most of the sites are owned privately, but there are three areas where the National Park issue permits: Inveruglas, Firkin Point, and Three Lochs Forest Drive.
Motorhome and Campervan sites in the National Park
We hope you find these listings helpful. In terms of scenery and location, all have lots to offer. However, the listed sites vary enormously in size and scale. Some are large sites that accommodate motorhomes and campervans on fully serviced bays. Others off just a few spaces amongst a more extensive mixed accommodation offering, whilst others are bays with no facilities.
