Perfect for families and newcomers, a 250-meter swim, equal to 10 lengths of a standard pool welcomes everyone aged over 8 to the crystal-clear waters of Loch Lomond. Any young swimmers under 12 have an accompanying adult to join the adventure. This is an ideal introduction to open-water swimming, and wetsuits are a must for most, but seasoned “skins” swimmers (16+) can embrace the chill.

If you’re ready to take it up a notch, the 750m swim is your perfect entry point into open-water swimming. Spanning 30 pool lengths, it’s a challenge you can conquer in about 20 minutes. Open to participants aged 12 and over, this distance balances the thrill of adventure with a manageable effort.

A 1.5km swim, the equivalent of 60 pool lengths, is ideal for swimmers of all abilities. As you settle into your stroke, you’ll be surrounded by awe-inspiring vistas of Loch Lomond and its rolling hills. Suitable for participants aged 16+, this event is a favourite for those looking to embrace the open-water experience fully.

For those seeking a longer challenge, the 5km swim awaits. Designed for experienced swimmers, this distance will test your stamina and determination. With regular cut-off points and safety teams at the ready, you’ll be supported every stroke of the way.

The ultimate test of endurance, the 10km marathon swim is for seasoned swimmers only. Covering an incredible 400 pool lengths, this is a swim you’ll remember forever. With strict cut-off times and the need for prior long-distance swimming experience, this event is not for the faint-hearted. But for those who take on the challenge, the reward is immeasurable.
