Aberfoyle, Gateway to the Trossachs, also known as the faerie capital of Scotland. Stronachlachar is a small lochside community by Loch Katrine in the Trossachs. The spectacular narrow and winding 11-mile road from Aberfoyle passes Lochs Ard, Chon and Arklet and is one of the most scenic routes in the National Park. Tyndrum, close to the northern boundary of the National Park is a good place to get food, drink, petrol and gifts. Killin is a pretty village, close to the edge of the National Park and the western head of Loch Tay. Balquhidder is a small village in Breadalbane, deep in Rob Roy Country. Balquhidder Kirk is the resting place of the outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor, there are many excellent walks nearby and two lochs - Loch Voil and Loch Doine. Blairmore is a small village on the Cowal Peninsula in Argyll. The community have created a wonderful garden and outdoor space, opposite the Victorian Pier. The village is set on the banks of Loch Long.
